In today’s changing postsecondary landscape, coordination across the campus is critical to innovation. Just ask the University of California San Diego. Recently, they launched an integrated student record.

The goal for UC San Diego was to innovate credentials in order to encourage students to engage with the institution and to help them reflect on and articulate their holistic learning and development. The creation and implementation of a suite of tools required commitment and resources from the Teaching + Learning Commons, Registrar’s Office, and Career Services.

Cindy Lyons, Interim Registrar Cindy Lyons and Engaged Learning Tools Coordinator

Kimberly Elias went so far as to author an issue brief to detail the work they were involved in at UC San Diego.  The brief, appropriately titled, “Credentials in a Digital Era”,  highlights how the university created a series of tools to articulate student competencies developed and share a more holistic picture of a student’s learning.

Lyons and Elias will lead a webinar on Thursday, October 13 at 1:30 p.m. EST to discuss their work in greater detail. Register today.
